CHAIRPERSON'S VIEWS

The world has coalesced to achieve the Millennium Development Goals by 2015. The achievement of reducing child mortality, improving maternal health, and achieving universal primary education remains imperative for growth and development in a world in need of change.

Sultana Trust & Association was borne out of the need to provide this hope and development for less privileged children, youths, and adults in society; through the provision of education and health care services. Today, stigma, shame, anger, guilt, and depression are just some of the pernicious effects of illiteracy. Therefore education remains a panacea for poverty, as a child denied the right to an education is marginalised for a lifetime.

Our goal is to provide a framework of hope through the provision of healthcare and educational services. These goals though laudable can only be met if every individual keys into a new paradigm to ensure that the excluded and invisible members of the society are given priority attention.
In the words of Martin Luther King: “Human progress is neither automatic nor inevitable. We are faced now with the fact that tomorrow is today. We are confronted with the fierce urgency of now. In this unfolding conundrum of life and history, there is such a thing as being too late. The challenges though enormous are surmountable as we believe that the pendulum of responsibility needed to ensure that the rights of our children to, health, education, protection, and participation remain in our hands. We welcome you to build our society and join us as we lend a hand to bring hope to those most in need.
